Good Afternoon and Welcome back!
It is difficult to believe that summer is almost over and we are preparing to have Lunenburg Middle School students back in the building. I hope you have been able to enjoy some good weather with friends and family and you are refreshed for the start to another school year.
This is the beginning of my 19th year as an administrator at Lunenburg Middle School and I am extremely proud of the student centered culture and climate we have created, as well as the rigorous academic course load that prepares students for high school.
Lunenburg Middle School faculty are trained to support middle school students as they enter our doors as elementary students and leave as high school students .We pride ourselves on meeting the needs of all students and creating an environment that enables students to feel safe and secure and ready to learn and grow.
We have been planning throughout the summer and are ready for students to return to school. We have some new faces at LMS this year, here is the new faculty in our building.
Karma Tousignant takes the reins as LMS Assistant Principal. Ms. Tousignant’s knowledge and expertise that spans over two decades of service to the students of Lunenburg Public Schools will be invaluable to our school community.
Please welcome Ms. Kiirsti Nano LMS as the TLC Classroom teacher. Ms. Nano has worked in the middle school for several years and has experience working with students to ensure they are successful in our school environment.
Mrs. Susan Reardon has moved her position as Grade 6 ELA Teacher and now joins the Grade 8 team of teachers. Mrs. Reardon has been a valued member of our teaching staff at the middle school for many years and she is looking forward to working with grade 8 students. We are in the process of interviewing for a Grade 6 ELA teacher.
Ms. Nicholette Dumont joins our LMS faculty and will be on the 6 White Team. Ms. Dumont is a respected educator in the district and we look forward to working with her.
Please welcome Kenzie Mannone as our LMS School Adjustment Counselor. Ms. Mannone has prior experience working with students in the building and a wealth of knowledge on how to ensure students are successful.
Please welcome Maureen Dupuis and Ashelyn Falish, Tara Drozdowski, and Kathy Jones as paraprofessionals that will assist students and teachers as part of our team at LMS.
LMS has the faculty to support students in their academics and their social and emotional well-being. I am excited about the possibilities these positions bring for student learning and engagement.
Below are some things that will assist you in the first day of school this year and some information and forms that will need your attention.
We are utilizing an on line platform for most of our back to school forms. Please click on the link below to access important school information and fill out mandatory forms.
Students in grade 6 will be issued a chrome book on the first day of school in their homerooms.
Each Friday, I will be sending an email to parents and students that provides important information, scheduled upcoming events and highlights of student successes throughout the week. Please keep your eye out for LMS Notices and reminders in your mail box.
The first day of school for students is Tuesday, September 1, 2026. The start time of our school day will be 8:00 AM. Buses begin to arrive at the school at approximately 7:45 AM. No student should be dropped off before 7:45 AM. When students arrive on the bus, they will be directed by an adult to exit their bus and enter the building.
Grade 6 will enter the building through the middle school staff entrance, located at the end of the middle school wing next to the staff parking lot.
Grade 7 will enter the building through the double doors next to the grade six entrance, up the stairs and into their homeroom classrooms. The two entrances will be separated by two double doors.
Grade 8 will enter through the main entrance up the stairs and into their homeroom classrooms.
STAFF MEMBERS WILL BE PRESENT TO ASSIST ALL STUDENTS ON WHERE TO ENTER THE BUILDING.
Once students are in the building, teachers will be stationed at their door to assist students in finding their homerooms. The LMS faculty strives to make the first day of school as smooth and stress free as possible for students. Please ensure your student that the adults in the building will take good care of them.
Parent drop off will continue in the drop off circle adjacent to the bus circle. After buses leave the bus circle, an administrator will signal that it is ok for parents to enter the bus circle to accommodate additional parent drop off.
Just a reminder, the main entrance to Lunenburg Middle-High School will be from Massachusetts Ave. We will have parents queuing up in the right lane to unload students in the drop-off loop. Student drop-off/ pick-up on Oak Ave is not permitted.
Feel free to drop your students off on the sidewalk next to the right lane. The sidewalk leads all the way to the school building and students can walk safely to campus.
The middle lane will be for buses (to get to the bus loop) and teachers to get to the teacher parking lot. The left lane will be to exit the campus. For pick-up, parents will que up in the same manner to
access the parent drop-off loop. After 2:40 PM, the bus loop will be able to be accessed for pick-up, as well.
Dismissal time for students will be 2:30 p.m. Bus students will exit the building and board the buses in front of the LMHS main entrance. Parents who are dropping off or picking up their child should use the Massachusetts Avenue entrance only, as not to interfere with the bus line. Please do not drop-off or pick-up along Oak Ave.
This year’s LMS Open House will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026 for grades six, seven, and eight at 6:00 PM. More information will be coming in the LMS weekly e mail to parents.
I am excited and proud to be able to greet all students back on campus and looking forward to supporting students and parents throughout the school year.
